Beetles face uphill fight for ACL survival

Former Thai League 1 champions Chiang Rai United face a battle for survival in the AFC Champions League when they take on Group J leaders Vissel Kobe of Japan in Buri Ram tonight.

The Beetles are at the bottom of Group J, still looking for their first points after two straight losses including a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Vissel Kobe on Friday.

With only three teams in the group, another loss would spell an end to Chiang Rai’s bid for a place in the next round.

Chiang Rai head coach Emerson is looking forward to correcting his side’s mistakes from their previous outing against the same opponents.

“We need to do our best for results, we need to try and play better than how we played in our first match against Vissel Kobe and fight for the next two matches to get better results,” said the Brazilian.
