PRESIDENT-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will be attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Thailand this November, Press Secretary-designate Rose Beatrix “Trixie” Cruz-Angeles announced on Wednesday.
Cruz-Angeles shared that the invitation was personally extended by Thai Chargé d’ Affaires Thawat Sumitmo, in his capacity as representative of Thailand, who is the current APEC chairman, during a courtesy call of envoys from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) to the incoming leader last Monday.
The 2022 APEC Summit, the first face-to-face holding of the event since 2018, will also be Marcos Jr.’s first official participation with other heads of states as Philippine president.
