The 27-year-old right-back has terminated his contract with Arsenal and has gone on to become an unattached player. As of Thursday, it was reported that talks were on a move to the Camp Nou.

Barca have confirmed the signing of Bellerin on a one-year contract until June 2023, with a €50m release clause.

It marks a return to Camp Nou in 11 years after the player decided to move from Barca youth team to join Arsenal youth team in 2011.

The statement said the club will announce plans to introduce the player to the media and fans again after this.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said on Bellerin’s departure: “Today we bid farewell to Hector and thank you for your loyalty and devotion to Arsenal. Null a lot.”

“During his 11 years at Arsenal, Hector won three FA Cups and made nearly 250 appearances, a great dedication to the club.

“It’s an honor for me to play in the same team as Hector for three years, wear the Arsenal kit and share so many great moments on and off the pitch. Thank you Hector and wish you and your family the best of luck in returning to Barcelona.”
