Banpu unit wraps up Temple II buyout

Temple II gas-fired power plant in Texas, a newly acquired asset of Banpu Power.

SET-listed Banpu Power (BPP), the power generation arm of energy conglomerate Banpu Plc, has completed a 16-billion-baht buyout of Temple II gas-fired power plant in Texas to strengthen its power business in the US.

The company earlier invested in Temple I gas-fired power plant in August 2021 and has recognised revenue from this facility. Its electricity generation capacity based on BPP’s shareholding is 384 megawatts.

Like Temple I, Temple II is a combined-cycle power plant, with a capacity of 755MW.
