Bangkok’s EmQuartier closes 6 shops after COVID scare

One of Bangkok’s toniest shopping malls announced early this evening that it had closed six shops after learning they were visited by a shopper infected with COVID-19.

In a bulletin, the EmQuartier shopping mall said it closed several restaurants and shops today that had been visited by the unidentified person on Monday.

“It was reported that the person paid a visit to Maison Kitsune, COS, Rosniyom, Krispy Kreme, Eric Kayser and Guss Damn Good, within the shopping complex, it said, adding that the mall has initiated “the highest safety protocols” consistent with the Department of Disease Control.

The shops will be cleaned, sanitized and disinfected and remain closed through Saturday.
