Fancied Chinese players, defending champion and second seed Zhu Lin and third-seeded Wang Xinyu, booked their places in the semi-finals of the WTA Thailand Open in Hua Hin on Friday.
While Zhu had little trouble in finishing off No.101-ranked Australian Ariana Rodionova’s challenge 6-3, 6-3, Wang had to work hard to salvage a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva in the quarter-finals.
