Bangkok Post – ‘Drop lanes’ to relieve congestion

Taxi drivers dropping off passengers at Don Mueang airport will be required to use “passenger drop lanes” starting on March 1 in an effort to deal with heavy traffic outside of the entrances to the airport’s Terminal 2.

The measure is part of the Transport Ministry’s effort to improve passengers’ experience through the nation’s largest low-carrier hub, which is expected to see a jump in passenger numbers over the Songkran holiday period.

The move, the ministry said, will ease the heavy congestion in front of Terminal 2, which serves domestic flights.

Taxis carrying passengers who require special assistance will be exempt from the rule, but they will be directed to Gate 5 at Terminal 1, which is right…
