Bangkok Post – Deep South wants direct Saudi flights

Private sector pitches 11 economic plans

Businesses in Pattani, Narathiwat and Yala are urging the government to facilitate tourism in the deep South, including by enabling direct flights between Narathiwat and Saudi Arabia.

Eleven development projects were proposed to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin during his visit to the deep South late last month by business associations and the chambers of commerce in Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat.

Sirichai Piticharoen, president of the Pattani Chamber of Commerce, said yesterday that the proposals mainly deal with investments in logistics and related areas to help stimulate tourism promotion and the economy.
