Bangkok Post – Chen, Wang set up all-Chinese title showdown

Chen Yufei will face Chinese compatriot Wang Zhiyi in the women’s singles final of the Badminton Asia Championships in Ningbo, China, today.

Chen defeated Han Yue 21-15, 21-16 and Wang overcame He Bingjiao 21-19, 21-17 in an all-Chinese cast for the semi-finals yesterday.

Olympic champion Chen is attempting to win her first Asian title after winning silver in 2018 and bronze in 2019 and 2023 while Wang is chasing her second continental crown after her maiden victory in 2022.

Indonesian star Jonatan Christie secured his place in the men’s singles decider after knocking out top seed Shi Yuqi of China 18-21, 21-19, 21-12.
