Bangkok has a new – or reborn – alternative cinema, and it opens Sunday.
Taking over the former Bangkok Screening Room, Doc Club & Pub will welcome a number of cinephiles to its theater and lounge with limited engagements due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions – and that means no movies yet on the big screen, for now.
For its “soft opening” through Sept. 14, it will open its doors three times a day at noon, 2:30pm and 5:30pm to show off the space to those who book via chat. Each is limited to only 12 people. Sunday’s visitors will be greeted with free drinks and snacks.

Although the quasi-lockdown measures relaxed today to allow several venues types to reopen, gatherings of more than 25 people are still prohibited, and so are cinemas.
