Bangkok barber botches pawnshop job

Bangkok barber Phuttarak “Chang Tong” Nakaew, 40 years old, was minding his own business in his shop last week when a police officer came calling, pretending to be a customer.

Police in Bangkok’s Bang Khun Thian district last week nabbed Chang Tong after an officer posed as a customer. Police images show the officer getting his hair cut before he identifies himself and arrests his barber.

Sharp-eyed officers immediately seized a plastic revolver which Chang Tong had used in an attempted stickup of a local pawnshop, along with the motorbike he used as getaway vehicle.

Chang Tong has admitted trying to hold up the Easy Money pawnshop on Phra Ram 2 Road on January 14.

CCTV footage showed the barber approach Samart, a security guard, outside the pawnshop, as if to ask for directions. The he draws the plastic gun, turns Samart around and escorts him inside
