The national tourism policy committee has authorised the registration of Bang Kachao — dubbed Bangkok’s “Green Lung” — in Samut Prakan as a designated area for sustainable tourism, says the Tourism and Sports Ministry.
Proposed by the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Dasta) under the ministry, the newly designated area covers six tambon in Phra Pradaeng district including Songkanong, Bang Krasop, Bang Yo, Bang Namphueng, Bang Kachao and Bang Ko Bua, Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said on Tuesday.
