Baby car seats for taxis

Hello good people!

My wife and I are planning to travel to Bangkok from another south asian country next month for the first time as parents. We have a one year old and we were just wondering if we should carry a car seat? I’ve read about the law regarding mandatory use of car seats from September 2022 but is it applicable to taxis as well?

Most relevant post that I saw on this topic dates back to 3 months but have the police started enforcing the rules recently? Car seats are ridiculously expensive in Bangkok so i dont want to get caught out without carrying one.

So the advice I am looking for is that should i carry a car seat from my home country which would be quite difficult to travel with or should i just skip it altogether? Any information from locals would be highly appreciated!
