Ayutthaya day trip

Hi all, I arrived in Bangkok yesterday and am hoping to find a fairly cheap way to get to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and back from central Bangkok.

I’ve worked out that I can get to Bang Sue Station from Hua Lamphong which is the closest station to where I’m staying. Are there trains from Bang Sue onwards? How much do these cost? Sorry, I’m having more than a bit of trouble with the public transport system!
