Asia-Pacific Coronavirus News: India records around 330,000 new COVID-19 infections, Thailand reports 1,919 new cases

The following are the latest developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in Asia-Pacific countries on Tuesday:

BANGKOK — Thailand on Tuesday reported 1,919 new cases of COVID-19 and 31 new fatalities, according to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesperson Taweesin Visanuyothin.

The infections brought the total number of confirmed cases to 86,924 in the Southeast Asian country, with more than 50,000 of them detected since the third wave of COVID-19 started in early April.

The additional 31 deaths from the pandemic reported Tuesday took the death toll to 452, according to Taweesin.

SUVA — Fiji reported on Tuesday night 12 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 to 152 in the island nation.
