Artist explores his journey in ceramics

After having exhibited only in Europe for almost a decade, contemporary artist Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch is having a solo ceramic exhibition at Atta Gallery, until Jan 14.

Titled “Unsinn Im Sinn”, the show traces his memory and practice from the starting point of his ceramics training to the present. And it has a lot to say about the exhibition title which means “Nonsense In Mind”.

Those words were said to Wasinburee by a ceramics teacher during his first year. However, he discovered the simple happiness, joy, peace and freedom working with clay in his hands when he studied with another teacher who was more encouraging and revealed to him the fascination of art and showed him that everything is possible.

The reminiscences were the turning point that started to shape Wasinburee’s life as a ceramist. In this show, memories, good and bad, are reinterpreted. Teaching…
