Are teeth braces and cros fashion in Thailand?

During my visit in Thailand recently I saw a lot of girls and even guys with braces. I asked my Thai fiance about it and she said it’s kinda fashion nowadays in Thailand. I also saw a lot of crocs like footwear everywhere. I understand the comfort and convenience but I saw Thai people wearing those crocs even in the clubs and some fancy places. I’m not trying to judge anyone. But I found it weird seeing braces and crocs as a fashion sense there. I could be wrong though
