Angels’ title bid running out of steam

Bangkok United went without a win for the fourth game in a row after a 1-1 draw with 10-man Chonburi on Saturday night, leaving Thai League 1 leaders Buriram United with a comfortable cushion of nine points.

Buriram will start as favourites to further widen the gap at the top this evening when they face 12th-ranked strugglers Nakhon Ratchasima in a northeastern derby.

Bangkok United can also lose their possession of the second spot this evening when third-placed BG Pathum United, who are just one point behind the Angels, travel to 13th-ranked Suphanburi.

Things didn’t change much for hosts Chonburi as well as they are also winless in their last four league…
