On 28 May 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat presided over the Vesak Day celebration at Wat Thai, Washington, D.C. Attending Buddhists made merit together by praying, meditating, and accepting the precepts. Participants offered food to the monks and celebrated in candlelight procession. Ambassador Tanee also took this opportunity to inform participants about the Embassy’s works on Thai community and consular matters, and invite all to join Sawasdee DC Thai Festival which will be held on 2 July 2023 at the National Mall.
