Alcohol Sales Ban This Weekend, June 3rd – Vesak Day

Just a heads up, Sat June 3rd is [Vesak Day](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vesak).

This means alcohol sales will be banned from 00:01 to 23:59 this Sat.

While there will be a little bit of variation regionally one should expect most bars to close midnight on the Friday and not open until around midnight on the Saturday (many might just skip opening completely on either or both days)

**Extra note for Patong only**:

The following Sat, 10th June most bars in Patong, including Bangla will be closed just the Sat night for local council elections as sales will be banned from 6pm Sat to 6pm Sun. This only affects Patong and not even all Patong but does hit the main nightlife zones

After this next bar closure/alcohol sales ban will be Aug 1st and 2nd (Yes two days back to back) and then no more until Oct
