AIS pre-paid eSIM top up confusion

When I come to Thailand for a couple months, I normally go into an AIS store to get an eSIM. I pay 300 baht. But due to the language barrier with whomever helps me, I don’t honestly know what the package is I signed up for. All I know is I’ve never had an issue with whatever package I get.

After a month, I go to the AIS machine to top up, and always add 300 baht since that’s what I paid originally. Am I doing it right ? It’s worked fine, but have always wondered what’s the difference between topping up by 300 vs 200 vs 1000 baht? What does the extra cost buy you?

I’m trying to figure this out because I’ll be going back to the States for a while, and would like to keep my Thai number from now on. I’ve read that I can top up from the States in order to keep the number active. People have said that they just add 10 baht and that that works.

Thank you,

Top Up Noob
