After 37 years, German eatery Bei Otto quits Sukhumvit Road

A German institution in the heart of Bangkok where untold schnitzel and pints have been pounded for four decades will say auf wiedersehen to its home on Soi Sukhumvit 20.

Tomorrow will be the last day Bei Otto’s open in the Bavarian-style brewhouse complete with Tudor facade it opened nearly 40 years ago, the restaurant announced this afternoon. Starting next week, those who love its on-brand pours of dark German lagers or deli’s authentic sauerkraut and meats will have to trek to its new location on Petchaburi Road. 

The new Bei Otto opens Tuesday at 1938 Petchaburi Road.
