From Australia to Thailand, Aesop finally opened its first official signature store in Thonglor, Bangkok. 

Step into a realm where timeless beauty rituals meet the pulse of Bangkok’s modernity—Aesop Thonglor. Finally opened, this new shop is not just a skincare haven, it’s a testament to the harmonious blend of art and tradition, along with this Australian brand’s story.  This week, Lifestyle Asia Thailand had the privilege of experiencing this sanctuary firsthand, nestled in Thonglor Soi 13.

Aesop unveils its first official signature store in Thailand

Entering the boutique, visitors are instantly greeted by an exquisite interplay of light and shadow. Conceived in collaboration with Sher Maker Studio, a Thai architectural studio, every inch of this space has been thoughtfully curated to reflect the essence of local heritage while whispering the tales of modern Thai sophistication. From the scent to the interior design, every detail takes you on an immersive journey beyond the pursuit of skincare excellence. 

Visitors are enveloped in a sanctuary of serenity, where the ambience hums with understated elegance and a tranquil aura that quiets the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. It’s an alchemy of Thailand’s soulful identity and Aesop’s signature aesthetic—where environmental design is expressed in its rawest, yet most refined form.

The space is a tactile narrative, with walls and fixtures adorned in reclaimed teak that tell the tales of their past life, as each board was from the storied collection of the building’s owner and the nearby Bang Ban district. A highlight within the store is the central sinks crafted from the very granite that gives Thai kitchens their culinary stage, bringing a piece of local tradition into the heart of the boutique.  

Beyond this, the Fa-Lhai Room awaits, a secluded retreat shrouded in panels inspired by the architectural ingenuity of Northern Thai homes. This innovative design breathes with the space, creating a captivating dance of shadow and light, intimacy and exposure, designed to stir the soul and awaken the senses. Within this intimate space lies the fragrance cabinet, a treasure trove where visitors can explore Aesop’s Eaux de Parfum fragrance collection. Here, one can linger and add a garment with a chosen scent, weaving the essence of Aesop into the very fabric of their being—a ritual that transcends mere shopping.
