The lower court has acquitted a political activist of lese majeste and computer crime charges due to the lack of witnesses and evidence to support the allegations.
Harit Nahaton, 31, was accused of defaming the royal institution in his chat messages posted on Facebook Messenger between January and April 2016. He was having conversations with Nattharika Warathanyawit, the second defendant.
Ms Nattharika, 48, who fled the country and is believed to be living in the United States, had allegedly used a Facebook account named Wararat Mengpramun to communicate with Mr Harit, according to the lawsuit.
