‘Absolutely do not collect them’: Doctor says don’t turn used ATKs into art

While it may be tempting to turn all those plastic trays of spit and snot into modern art, a physician said this morning that people should not frame their disposable COVID-19 test kits.

Pakpoom Dechhatsadin shared a picture of a four by nine grid of ATK tests – all negative – framed like a work of art. He warned that this is not a medically sound idea, as all used ATKs should be considered contaminated.

“ATK testing kits are considered infectious waste because they are contaminated with the snot and saliva used for testing,” he said.

He said it doesn’t matter if they yielded negative results.
