Abbie Chatfield hospitalised after stay in a health retreat in Thailand for shock addiction: ‘I fear I won’t survive the day’

Abbie Chatfield was hospitalised this week for a severe migraine amid her battle with work addiction.

The reality star, 28, shared a selfie of herself looking unwell in bed with some worrying words.

‘I fear I won’t survive the day,’ she wrote.

She explained she went to hospital after vomiting all night and was given medication, but it had worn off and she was still in a lot of pain.

‘Went to hospital last night. The medicine sedated me and it seemed to work until I woke up this morning with the same amount of pain,’ she began.

‘Day three of migraine, help. PS: Feet in hot water didn’t do anything but worth a try for anyone with a less severe migraine.’

Back in July, Abbie revealed she had been at a retreat in Thailand to recover from her work addiction issues.

The podcast host recorded a message for her It’s A Lot listeners explaining she was taking a week off from work to re-prioritise her commitments.

In an emotional voice recording, the radio host explained she has a ‘genuine addiction to work’ and was suffering from serious burnout because of it.

‘I’ve been absolutely depleted and burnt out by the start of this year for a number of reasons,’ she said.

‘But I’ve been here for about five days and I think I’ve realised that my priorities need to shift a bit, to be honest, I’ve taken on so many jobs and so many roles.’

She continued: ‘I’m trying to figure out what I do and don’t want to do and I’m trying to not push myself to work way harder than I need to.’

Abbie went on to say all she had done over a five day period was ‘sit around and get massages and swim’, but it’s still been ‘mentally difficult’.

In August, Abbie announced she was quitting radio to focus on her TV career, podcast, and personal life after suffering a severe case of burnout.

Despite the success of her Hit Network show Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, the 28-year-old told her fans via a 3-minute-long Instagram video that she was ‘happy’ with her decision to quit.

‘I simply need to put my energy into projects that bring me joy and that energise me, rather than drain me,’ she explained.
