Mae Wang, just North of Chiang Mai, is a great spot to visit for river rafting, swimming or simply visiting the elephant centers.
To get to Mueang Khong, there is a system of trails and dirt roads that lead through the mountains and offer stunning views. I’d highly recommend this trail system, though in the rainy season it can become quite difficult.
Mueang Khong is a well known destination in the domestic tourism market as a beautiful valley with quaint coffee shops, home stays and restaurants. A great spot to relax or as a stop during a motorcycle tour.
