The first week of Thailand’s reopening witnessed the arrival of more than 20,000 international travelers, with the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom as the top three sources.
Since Thailand began allowing travelers from dozens of countries to get in without any quarantine one week ago, the COVID-19 task force this weekend unveiled the top 10 places they came from through Saturday.
In the past week, records indicated 2,465 people flew from the United States while 2,334 were from Germany and 1,376 from the United Kingdom.
About 1,250 travelers came from Japan, 906 from South Korea and 905 from Russia.
Among the 20,092 arrivals, only 15 people – or 0.07% – were found infected with COVID-19, according to the authorities. Five travelers were detected with COVID-19 at Suvarnabhumi International Airport while the other 10 were found at Phuket…
