Storm and flash flood warnings have been issued for southern provinces through to Friday, with heavy rain forecast along the Gulf of Thailand coast.
The Meteorological Department on Monday issued the alert for all southern provinces from Surat Thani to the southernmost area.
Shipping and small boats are also warned of continuing rough seas in the Gulf.
The weather agency singled out Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat as the provinces to be hit the hardest by torrential rain and possible runoff.
The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department said on Monday that strong waves were reported offshore from Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani and Narathiwat.
