I’m going to stay at GO INN Khaosan hotel, booked it through booking.com and they said in chat that they need a photo of my passport to give the password code to my room. The request makes sense, since the hotel’s reception is supposed to be automated, you put in a code and get your keys. But I’m kinda hesitant giving out private information like that. Is this a common practice in Bangkok? Is there anything to be afraid of?
