Police stressed, however, that the woman was not a suspect but they merely wanted to interview and speak with her due to being a resident at the home where the body of Hans was discovered.
The woman, who is disabled and has difficulty walking, was identified as Mrs. NICOLE FREVEL), 52, and resided at the home in Chockchai Village Garden 1 where the dismembered and mutilated body of Hans was found stuffed in a freezer.
Nicole had fled to a restaurant in Soi Khao Noi, Moo 5, and was discovered hiding in a small backroom around 5:00 P.M. today, July 11th, 2023. She had been tracked from her residence to the restaurant where she had been hiding from law enforcement officers. The name of the restaurant was withheld by police.
When law enforcement discovered her hiding place, Nicole allegedly used a knife to self-harm herself in one of her arms leaving a significant gaping slash wound. She reportedly shouted at police that she would die today rather than die being pursued. Law Enforcement managed to get the knife away from her and calm her down, reiterating that she was not a suspect.
Nicole was taken to a local hospital to treat her non-life threatening wounds and spoke with police this evening. According to her, she merely resided at the residence when prime suspect Mr. Oraf Thorsten Brinkmann, German, who she knows well and also often stayed at the home, brought the freezer containing the body of Hans Peter Mack to the home.
Nicole claimed to Thai police that she did not know what was in the freezer and was threatened by Oraf not to open it or she would be harmed. She told police she slept near the freezer for two days without knowing what was in it until she saw the news about the freezer being traced and panicked and came to the restaurant. Her relationship with the restaurant was unclear and the owner was not identified by Thai police.
Nicole stated to Thai police she did not know where the two remaining prime suspects, Mr. Oraf Thorsten Brinkmann, German, and Mr. Zahrouk Kareem Uddin, 27, Pakistani, were.
Nicole is recovering from her wounds at a local hospital and is cooperative and not a suspect at this time, according to Thai police. However, the investigation into the murder and motive behind the brutal death of Hans Peter Mack continues.
