Law enforcement officers in Pattaya were on close watch against the sale of alcohol amid Thailand’s advance voting on May 7th.
This will also be the case next weekend during the general election times with an alcohol ban from 6PM Saturday May 13th to 6PM Sunday May 14th.
Pattaya Police inspected many entertainment venues and restaurants around 8:30 PM yesterday, May 6th, to remind operators about the ongoing ban on alcohol sales. The ban was launched to prevent people from drinking and getting intoxicated during the ongoing early voting that lasted until 6 PM today, May 7th.
Police told The Pattaya News that offenders will face a hefty fine of 10,000 baht or a six-month prison sentence or both. Thailand’s general election date is set for May 14th, with the same ban expected to be put in place as stated.
