Members of Thai labour rights groups took to the streets to march for labour rights on International Women’s Day in Bangkok on Tuesday.
The group, led by the Thai Labour Solidarity Committee, called on the government to increase the length of paid maternity leave from the current 98 days to 180 days while providing 30 days fully paid paternity leave. Under the current law, male workers are entitled to 15-day paternity leave.
