96,000 doses for capital next month

City Hall ready to buy vaccines itself

A total of 96,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines from Sinovac and AstraZeneca will be distributed in Bangkok next month, city governor Aswin Kwanmuang said on Thursday.

Of the 317,000 doses of vaccines from the two companies that arrived in Thailand on Wednesday, 66,000 from Sinovac and 30,000 from AstraZeneca will be earmarked for the capital, Gen Aswin said.

The priority group to be vaccinated will be 6,000 medical personnel and disease control officials in six high-risk areas — Bang Khunthian, Bang Bon, Nong Khaem, Chom Thong, Bang Khae and Phasi Charoen districts.
