40% of Japanese companies hire seniors, age 70 is no longer retirement age

Japan is facing an aging society and fewer children being born. But it's not a problem. Japan hires older workers to work

In 2013, Japan amended its labor law to allow people over 65 years of age to still work and companies have no right to fire them.

Over the past 10 years, Japanese companies have had 40% of employees over the age of 70, from bus drivers to salespeople.

Most older workers are employed in 'part-time' positions and may only work 4 days a week.

And what follows when hiring elderly workers is an increase in accident statistics. In 2022, there were 26% more accidents.

To reduce this risk, many companies use technology and adapt their systems to suit the elderly.

Seeing examples from Japan should be able to be applied well to Thai society as well. Because Thailand has already entered the aging society.
