36 provinces at risk of heavy rainfall and flash flooding until Aug 10

Bangkok continued to experience heavy rainfall from last night until this morning, with flash floods leaving many unable to go home or head to work.

Many Bangkok commuters were stuck in traffic across multiple areas as they slowly drove through the floods to get to work. Some of the most affected roads this morning include Srinakarin, Lat Phrao, Seri Thai, Ramkhamhaeng. 

The National Water Administration warned yesterday that 36 provinces are at risk for flash floods until August 10, as water levels have risen across multiple rivers and tributaries.

On Friday, Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt vowed to replace over 300 water pumps throughout the kingdom, including 190 in Bangkok, to improve the drainage system and flood mitigation efforts.
