Three decades of barbecued ribs, cheeseburgers, steaks and milkshakes washed down with countless live rock performances are coming to an end in Siam Square.
For its 30th birthday, a rock-themed restaurant that needs little introduction, Hard Rock Cafe, announced it will close its multistory Siam Square branch at the end of March after operating there since 1991.
Part of a massive chain – there are still more than 180 locations – exporting American culture to tourists worldwide, Hard Rock T-shirts bearing names of the world’s cities were once ubiquitous fashion items.
“We have enjoyed playing a major role in the city’s dining and music culture for the past 30 years,” Hard Rock Cafe Bangkok announced.
It described it as a “pause” and teased reopening at a new future location.
