A street muralist who famously plastered the face of a deputy junta leader onto a watch a few years ago will curate a month-long event of works by more than 30 artists opposed to Thailand’s persistent dictatorship.
Headache Stencil announced today that he will organize Uncensored, which will showcase works by over a dozen artists – well- and lesser-known alike – that protest the military-backed government.
Among them are Suchart Sawatsi, who recently lost his vaunted national artist title for supporting the pro-democracy movement, photographer-filmmaker Chardchakaj Waikawee and Nakrob Moonmanas, who puts a creative spin on digital collages.
The artist, who rose to fame with anti-establishment murals around Bangkok, has listed all the participating artists.
