3 month stay in Phuket

My husband and I are going to be in phuket for three months from the end of January. We have searched Airbnb for places to stay but the prices are way expensive for the type of accommodation we are looking for. What do you suggest we do in terms of our search for bookings? Are there other websites we should look at ? Should we get to Phuket then visit apartments ?
Any tips would be so appreciated !
