The country registered 80 more Covid-19 fatalities and 25,164 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday morning.
This compared with the 83 coronavirus-related fatalities and 21,382 new cases reported on Tuesday morning.
There were 25,116 local cases and 48 imported ones.
On Tuesday, 24,770 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus while 237,128 others were receiving treatment (up from 236,814 on the previous day).
