The country registered 38 more Covid-19 fatalities and the new high of 23,557 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Thursday morning.
This compared with the 39 coronavirus-related fatalities and 21,232 new cases reported on Wednesday morning.
There were 23,329 local cases and 228 imported ones.
On Wednesday, 16,131 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
