22,197 new Covid cases, 45 more deaths

The country registered 45 more Covid-19 fatalities and 22,197 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday morning.

This compared with the 43 coronavirus-related fatalities and 20,420 new cases reported on Tuesday morning.

There were 22,079 local cases and 118 imported ones.

On Tuesday, 19,093 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,934,544 Covid-19 cases, including 711,109 cases this year, with 2,692,739 complete recoveries to date.
