21,881 new Covid cases,59 more deaths

The country registered 21,881 more Covid-19 cases and 59 new fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Sunday morning.

This compared with the 52 coronavirus-related fatalities and 22,818 new cases reported on Saturday morning.

There were 21,747 local cases and 134 imported cases.

On Saturday, 21,448 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 3,026,695 Covid-19 cases, including 803,260 cases this year.

The accumulated death toll stood at 23,235 since the beginning of the pandemic.
