The country registered 39 more Covid-19 fatalities and 21,232 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday morning.
This compared with the 35 coronavirus-related fatalities and 18,363 new cases reported on Tuesday morning.
There were 21,064 local cases and 168 imported ones.
On Tuesday, 16,662 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,770,793 Covid-19 cases, including 547,358 cases this year, with 2,574,458 complete recoveries to date.
