It’s an interesting discussion that goes through some scenarios for the next election and beyond.

Panel:

* Abhisit Vejjajiva, former Prime Minister of Thailand
* Patsaravalee “Mind” Tanakitvibulpon, a pro-democracy activist
* Thitinan Pongsudhirak, professor and senior fellow of the Institute of Security and Internaitonal Studies at Chulalongkorn University

It’s two hours but available for download and can be used like a podcast as there aren’t any slides or anything you need to see.

TLDR:

* **Abhisit**: Prawit + Thaksin coalition is a real possibility that could bring Thaksin home. Prawit can count on about 100 senators, and has positioned himself to be still relevant regardless of outcome – can form a conservative coalition but has kept the door open for PT deal
* **Mind**: if there is any intervention (coup) or the people’s vote is not respected, then young people will revolt
* **Thitinan**: this is the most consequential election and different to the others. The regime has run out of tricks, and the people are starting to have their way in politics. (Abhisit responded that he did see much change on offer or think this election was much different to those in recent times)
