The country registered 18,885 more Covid-19 cases and 29 new fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Saturday morning.
This compared with the 29 coronavirus-related fatalities and 18,066 new cases reported on Friday morning.
There were 17,898 cases in the general population and 168 imported cases.
On Friday, 12,511 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,693,362 Covid-19 cases, including 469,927 cases this year, with 2,513,269 complete recoveries to date.
