18-year-old Man Captured by Pattaya Traffic Volunteer for Stealing Motorbike

Pattaya —

A volunteer traffic officer captured a man in Pattaya for stealing a motorbike Saturday night, July 15th.

The volunteer, Mr. Ton Leuktalay, 28, restrained Mr. Phanupong Hemwan, 18, who was suspected of stealing a black Honda Wave 125 motorcycle from a house in Soi Toongkom Tanman located in Pattaya, Chonburi province.

Ton stated to The Pattaya News that he noticed the suspect along with his friends dragging a motorbike, so he approached them to offer some help. However, once they saw Ton approaching, the group seemed startled and ran away from him, leaving only Phanupong and the motorbike behind.

Ton decided to capture and restrain Phanupong, believing that he had stolen the motorcycle. Phanupong admitted to police later that he assisted his friends in stealing the bike to earn a share of 5,000 baht.

The suspect was transported to the Banglamung police station to face charges. Police are trying to return the bike to the owner.
