The country registered 15,882 more Covid-19 cases and 24 new fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Sunday morning.
This compared with the 25 coronavirus-related fatalities and 16,330 new cases reported on Saturday morning.
There were 15,682 local cases and 200 imported cases.
On Saturday, 9,482 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,593,327 Covid-19 cases, including 369,892 cases this year, with 2,446,022 complete recoveries to date.
