After a weekend nor’easter sent a snowy blast up the east coast, the weather in the U.S. has slowed a bit, but that hasn’t been the case worldwide. Let’s take a quick trip to see what weather headlines you might have missed this week.
We start in Italy where heavy rain and snow have battered the northeastern portion of the country. More than 6 feet of snow fell in parts of the Alps, where crews performed hundreds of rescues over the course of three days. Along the coast in Venice, streets flooded as an exceptionally high tide swept into the city.
Flooding was also in the headlines in southern Thailand. Six days of storms dumped nearly 40 inches of water into portions of Thailand. Local media reports the deadly flooding impacted nearly 200,000 people.
