Wattpad Webtoon Studios adapts Gangnam Beauty with Thailand’s GMMTV | News

Wattpad Webtoon Studios has partnered with Thai prodco and talent agency GMMTV on an adaptation of the Webtoon comic My ID is Gangnam Beauty.

The digital comic, written by Maenggi Ki, is being adapted under the name Beauty Newbie, with production set to begin this summer. The 14-episode project will premiere in early 2024 on GMMTV.

Digital comic My ID is Gangnam Beauty has racked up 1.4 billion views on online comic publisher Webtoon and built a large local fanbase in Thailand. It has already been turned into a Korean drama under the original My ID is Gangnam Beauty title.

Beauty Newbie is directed by AtichaTanthanawigrai (F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, The Shipper). It follows Liu, a woman who felt the need to get plastic surgery, and Guy, who is seen as having a ‘perfect’ face.
